How the WoW Classic Talent Calculator Works

Pick a class to see its three Classic WoW specialization trees. Spend talent points on individual talents, starting at the top of each tree. Each new tier in a tree unlocks once you have invested 5 points into talents earlier in that same tree, matching the tier-gating rule used in Classic WoW, up to the level 60 cap of 51 total points.

Formula

Each talent tree tier requires 5 points already spent in that tree to unlock, so tier 2 needs 5 points spent in tier 1 of the same tree, tier 3 needs 10, and so on. The maximum total points obtainable at level 60 in Classic WoW is 51.

Example

Spending 5 points across Tier 1 talents in a tree unlocks Tier 2 of that same tree, even if you have not spent any points in the other two trees.

Limitations

Talent names, ranks, and tiers shown here are a simplified reference inspired by Classic WoW's talent system and are meant for build planning practice. They may not exactly match current in-game tooltips, so verify exact talent effects and any recent balance changes on an up-to-date Classic WoW resource such as Wowhead before finalizing a respec.
